The principle sanctuary, the way things are today, was manufactured by the third Peshwa, Shrimant Nana Saheb in the year 1749 A.D. The historical backdrop of the sanctuary is connected with a wonder. It is accepted that Kashibai, the mother of the third Peshwa was experiencing an extreme illness in her right foot.
